upcoming weeks

It’s not chicken pox. It’s coxsackie virus. Clara’s almost over it. Hannah is just beginning but her case seems not so bad as Clara’s. The week after next, the girls are going to my mom and dad’s in Kansas for a week. My parents are flying up for the air and water show next weekend and taking the girls home with them, and then the following weekend we are meeting them at Mark Twain lake for a cabin-camping experience and picking up the girls. I will miss them. I had thought to relax some during the week they will be gone, but I found out that I have new teacher meetings Monday thru Wednesday and Inservice on Thursday and Friday. So instead of an extra week of daycare, they’re getting an extra week with grandma and grandpa. Then when they come back, we all start school. They will be going to a montessori school near our house. It will be a tough transition for all of us, as we are quite comfortable at home, except for being sick and unable to go out or see friends. But in time, I think it will be a happy place and a good experience for them. We visited the school for a long two hour visit and I got to observe them playing (working) there. They really enjoyed it. I know they will enjoy the awake times. But sleeping on a cot? Not so sure about that. But I’m sure the school has had other young ones that they have helped learn how to transition to their school. The staff members that I saw in action were very gentle and loving. Everything was quiet, and the little ones were playing happily, going from one activity to another in a very peaceful way. I think the staff will know how to help the girls adjust and I am planning to send their lovies the first week or two…or longer if they need it. That helped Hannah when she started at her former sitter’s when she was Clara’s age.
