stay home day
I stayed home with the girls today. It was nice to have a day with them. I needed some time to myself too. And sleep. I got a nap!
We went to the library in the morning. Had some overdue books. Hannah loves to go to the library because there are other kids there. Then we came home for lunch. I actually got the girls to sleep at the same time, so I got a 2 hour nap, and another hour before Hannah woke up to work on grading things. Clara didn’t get up til almost an hour after Hannah. Then tonight we went to Fuddruckers for dinner.
I needed to catch up on laundry and the house was a mess. Still is a mess, but I did get the floor swept twice. And laundry put away. I still have a lot of work to do before Monday to be ready for school. I am getting observed one more time by my mentor. I am glad there are only a few weeks of school left. The kids have Spring fever, and so do I. None of us want to do work. But without work, my classes cannot behave for two straight periods. I have a double block.. Besides, we still have a lot of stories to read before the end of the year. I should have them do more writing. Essays or something. We have been doing lots of little writing assignments. Their writing has improved a lot this year. I’m also trying to get them to enjoy reading. It’s harder when it’s their second language. Often, books at their reading level are not interesting to them because they are written for younger children. I need more things that are low reading level, high interest.
I’ve had some things on my mind regarding work, but the open internet isn’t the place to mull them over. For those of you who have Mindsay accounts and are on my friends list there, I wrote a little more about it.
